History of Mr. Harms Wiki

 

 

     This wiki was started in 2007 to help students attending Penta Career Center learn new skills that will help them succeed in their careers. The wiki allows students to post their work on the Internet and recieve feedback from the academic community. Mr. Harms is a Social Studies teacher who teaches American Government, American History and World Issues. Students have recieved feedback form all over the world on their work. This wiki is inspired by the writings of Will Richardson.

Mr. Harms Official Website - Class Website - This is a link to the website created for the students to monitor what is going on from home. Students create blogs here and the homework center is located here as well.

 

Dan Griffin's Page - Mayan Scholar - Griffin is our consultant on Mayan history for the World Issues class. He currently resides in the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. Griffin lends his unique insight to student research in Mayan culture and history.

 

Mr. Harms' Page - Mayan Civilization - In this Power Point Harms has introduced a general overview of Mayan culture. The Ball Game is introduced as well as what Mayans did to increase their attractiveness to each other. The presentation ends with the date of the end of the world.

 

World Issues 2007 - The 2007 World Issues class shared their research on Mayan history and American Indian Culture. Each student created their own page that contains research that they have done.

 

Social Studies 11 B - Students researched American Indian culture and shared their findings with the culinary students.

 

Social Studies 11 D -  Students researched American Indian culture and shared their findings with the culinary students.
